About me.
My name is Brendan Duell. I grew up in Beech Grove, a small town just south of Indianapolis. I attended Roncalli High School where I fell in love with American writers such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Edgar Allan Poe. Roncalli has an excellent English department which challenged me, and my AP language and composition class helped me to grow as a writer. During my time at Roncalli, I also was a member of the show choir. Music and writing became my two areas of interest. In 2010, I was accepted into Belmont University’s Songwriting program. While I did not finish my education at Belmont University, I learned a lot and met many talented and interesting individuals in Nashville, TN. I have often returned to the city to visit friends and record music. In 2019, I went back to school at Indiana University Indianapolis for Informatics. I soon found I was more passionate about the English classes I was taking and changed my major to Indiana University’s English, Technical and Professional Writing where I earned my degree. Equipped with the knowledge and experience the program provided, I am now a freelance grant writer and content writer. I look forward to the challenge of writing for a variety of businesses and nonprofits. Please visit the contact page and let’s talk about how I can meet your organization’s writing needs.
